What to bring
Hats - Mongolia is higher than Europe, when traveling to the lowest such as Gobi area it would be between 1300 to 2000 meters altitude above sea level. So, the sun makes itself felt!
The sunglasses
Lip Balm butter for lips even if you are man
Sandals but not flip flops
Disinfectant
Sun cream, and anti-inflammatory against mosquitoes or ticks
Medicines in Mongolia, they do not coincide with European medicines if someone uses specific pills it is better to bring their own such for blood pressure etc.
Windbreaker
waterproof
sweatshirts
light shoes, but for mountains, even better if they are waterproof
In Mongolia rarely eat products like fish, so if someone can't go without it, would be better bring some of their favorite products with them if they get tired of eating meat
light bathrobe after shower, because during the trip, in gher without bathroom and shower inside / but there will certainly be large and small towels in each gher camps/ or some gher camp put on each gher above the bed, or in the shower
the small flashlight, or you can use the one on your cell phone
in the majority of gher camps the electrical sockets do not have inside the gher, in such cases it is charged inside the restaurant, when they start the engine after 7pm until 10am, so it can be useful to have a power bank
a scarf could be useful if there is a sandy wind
Generally during the summer months in Mongolia, the temperature is good, but hotter in July and August, around 20 to 30 during the day and 12 to 18 at night, while in June the degrees vary between 17 and 26 degrees during the day, and at night it drops between 8 to 12 degrees. In the Gobi area around 27 during the day 15 at night. These temperatures were taken from the average of several years.
What can be used when?
In the valley of vultures /Yoliin Am/ towards the afternoon it is better to bring a sweatshirt, raincoat, or windbreaker, you cannot wear open shoes! There will be a stream to cross, so if you wear trekking shoes and waterproof, even better.
On the dunes of Khongor to climb the dunes, the sand enters the shoes, there are those who prefer to wear sandals, but they can also wear trekking shoes. Sandals but not flip flops! You must be careful that the sand does not damage the photo rooms and scarves, glasses could be useful.
On other days the dress is the same in the Gobi area, t-shirts, short sleeves for those who are hot, but those who would like to protect themselves from the sun can also wear long sleeves.
While on the other hand in the capital area, Terelj, and Kharakhorin the temperature is slightly cooler than Gobi, 3 to 5 degrees difference with Gobi.
Throughout the tour there are sheets and towels. But those who prefer to use their own things can bring either a light bathrobe or a medium-sized towel, not big things!
The suitcases need to be resistant but not necessarily hard, so you choose who prefers which. There will be three people in each car, the suitcases will be inside the car and including hand luggage, normally people sit with a backpack next to them and large luggage must all fit in the back, including water.
On the plane they allow large suitcases of 23 kg maximum, 7 kg for hand luggage.
Fermented milk has a laxative effect, if you drink unfermented milk, make sure it is boiled. Without problems, people add milk to coffee in the camp because they never put milk at the table without having boiled it, or they use packaged milk so you can trust it. I wrote about fish above, so those who prefer to eat their own things like tuna or cheese bring them with them.
Money
Cash – as soon as you meet the guide, exchange around 100 euros each, which to buy the telephone card you must pay in local currency, around 9 or 10 euros, the rest will be needed for coffee drinks, beer for the camps, and whoever wants to ride a horse or camel. Or buy something in the supermarkets in the centers of rural villages.
Can I give something to someone? - Normally tourist asks if they can give something to the locals while going out into the countryside. Or groups put together the things they brought such as markers, notebooks, and every now and then if they met in the villages, they gave these, or children's used clothes and people accepts.
